July 14-15 Twin Lakes Backpacking Trip

We took a fantastic backpacking trip to Twin Lakes and Mt. Palmateer last weekend. The weather was good. The hike was great. The views were great. We met at 7am in Tualatin and got on the trail by 9:30am. Took lunch at the lower lake, where you can see a few us catching a nap in the pictures. We set camp at Palmateer camp, which is really a nice meadow some 0.3mi below the summit. Nice and open with plenty of flat ground. The summit featured fantastic views, although we didn't get to see the sun set. 

We were visited by several rather gregarious deer in the evening and morning. All in all, an absolutely excellent trip.
