Post date: Mar 19, 2021 12:58:44 PM

Congratulations to Mason Lewallen as the newly elected Lodge Chief for Wauna La-Mon’tay Lodge beginning May 1, 2021.  Mason will  join with a great group of engaged youth to serve the Lodge as Vice Chiefs.  Jack Lewy, Program; Tor Helland, Service; Leo Raveling, Membership; Owen MacHaffie, Ceremonies; and Bryant Gillins, Admin.  For over 100 years, the Order of the Arrow (OA) has recognized Scouts and Scouters who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives.  This recognition provides encouragement for others to live these ideals as well.  Arrowmen are known for maintaining camping traditions and spirit, promoting year-round and long term resident camping, and providing cheerful service to others.  OA service, activities, adventures, and training for youth and adults are models of quality leadership development and programming that enrich and help to extend Scouting to America's youth.  Mason and Tor follow several Youth leaders from Troop 530 in leading this National Scouting Honor Society.

Congratulation to Tor Helland as the newly elected Vice Chief for Service.  The Service Vice Chief will lead many exciting service projects within the community, local scouting residence camps, and service at induction weekends.  This year, the Wauna La-Mon'tay Lodge will be providing "Arrowcorps 2021" - Arrowcorps is a weeklong opportunity for Scouts and Scouters to give service to Public Lands in our area.   This year Arrowcorps will be based at Camp Pioneer on Santiam Pass, August 22-27. We will be focusing on Hiking Trail maintenance for the Detroit Ranger District of the Willamette National Forest.  Arrowcorps is for registered Scouters age 14 and above, and you do not need to be a member of the Order of the Arrow.
