January Committee Meeting Notes

General

Friends of Scouting will start next week. Phil Platter will hand out the brochures and start the process.

Jean Wiser is resigning as the Adult Training coordinator. Maybe Suzette can do it. JCD will investigate.

Tree Recycling

Good turn out for the Christmas tree recycling yesterday.  It was the first year of working directly with Troop 35 and over all it was a very good thing. Some bumps, of course, but over-all it is good to work as the Tualatin Boy Scouts rather than individual Troops. 7 Large trucks (Thanks to "Clean it up Mark!" for the trucks) and a number of smaller trucks.

There were inquiries from parents about Scouts riding in the back of the trucks. This is against Safe Scouting and Tualatin city regulations and needs to be avoided on the second pick-up day. It is the Committee's expectation that all Scouts will be in the cab of the trucks.  

Scoutmaster report

Going to have to push out the Evergreen outing to Feb. Tentatively Feb 12. Now planning to do a day hike in January. PLC is next Sunday.

Sr. Patrol Leader Report

12 scouts earned the Law Merit Badge through the series that Mr. Schucht ran last month. 

Recruitment

Next week when we have the webelos welcom planned, now is the same night as the big Ducks game, so we don't think that people will actually come.  Reschedule to 1/31 and 2/14. Scoutmaster and Committee Chair will send personal invitations via email to the webelos parents.
