Butte Creek Camp and Horse Ride Feb 2012

One of the Troop's favorite outings is to go to Butte Creek and ride the horses. One of our own, Tim Payne, is one of the wranglers there, and we always have a good time. The camp has a set of nice adirondacks that sleep up to 10 and includes a covered shelter for cooking and hanging out. The horses here are the same ones that you ride at Camp Baldwin in the summer. Butte Creek is where the herd winters and Troops can come to ride them during the winter months.

We had a great time. It was forecast to rain 100% for both days, but we mainly got away with only mist and a little rain at night when we were already snug in our adirondacks. It was awfully muddy, but Scouts aren't afraid of "getting dirty"!

Three of our 'cross-over' Scouts were with us and they all had a great time getting to know the Troop and riding the horses.

Looking forward to doing this again!
